Feature Stub
Desirability
Description
Feature stubs are used to gauge user interest and demand for a potential product or feature before actually creating it. A feature is simulated by a button within a product or a skeleton frame. However, when users click on these elements to learn more or take action, they are met with a message indicating that the product or feature is not yet available or is still in development.
The primary purpose is to collect data on user engagement and interest. By monitoring how many users click on the fake offering and their subsequent behavior, organizations can gain insights into whether there is genuine demand for the product or feature.
